The case is simple but nice (and can store an extra memory card) and the 4GB card saves some money. The camera itself has a tremendous amount of features, and takes very sharp pictures, even at extreme high zoom. The automatic setting is very clever, and makes smart decisions about lighting and flash--smarter than my 2-year-old Canon. Note: it's strange that a "force-flash" option is not allowed under full automatic mode, but hardly a deal-breaker as you can switch to partial-auto mode. The image stabilization is quite good. The main con is the pop-up flash, which is annoying because my fingers tend to want to grip the camera there. Even 5 millimeters to the right and would have been no problem, but I suppose it was a compactness issue. The flash is quite powerful for a consumer camera. Another silly issue is the included manual, which is horribly inadequate. Fortunately you can find a real manual online. The... Can't beat the price of "Free"Found the auto-focus to be not as sharp as Canon or Nikon. The camera focus better with center focus than multi-focus. White balancing is good for daylight but not for flourscent light. The camera has ISO setting but will not readjust the exposure meter if you can use it in the manual mode. Thus, if you want to play with the manual setting, you will need to do everything manually, including aperature and exposure meter. The camera has a lot more feature like facial tracking but I found that to be useless since it's not focusing at the face but off to the other objects to the side. Maybe it needs a firmware upgrade or something. Who knows?!?! 1 of 3 people found the following review helpful Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H90 16.1 MP Digital Camera with 16x Optical Zoom and 3.0-inch LCD (Red) (2012 Model) (Electronics) Bought this camera for the zoom and the name.when I took it out of the box it was heavier than I thought. I guess should have expected that with a 16x zoom. Its a big camera. Does not have a shortcut button for video The flash is in a terrible spot in front of the camera. I ended up returning it for a Nikon Coolpix. I'm happy with that. |
